§ 13-1. Definitions.

  • The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this chapter, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

    Double-faced sign means a freestanding sign structure with opposite facing single message surfaces.

    Multi-message sign means a sign which directs attention to more then one commodity, activity, business or advertiser.

    Off-premises outdoor advertising sign means a sign which directs attention to a commodity or activity located primarily off the parcel where the sign is located.

    On-premises sign means a sign which directs attention to a commodity or activity located on the parcel where the sign is located.

    Sign means any device used to attract attention or inform a message to the general public.
